The weekend is here....

We've been getting snow the last couple of days.  Luckily, it hasn't stuck to the ground in our part of the state.  Yesterday's weather was a bit dicey, a lot of accidents.  It always amazes me that everyone forgets how to drive in snow each year.

Tomorrow is the first Saturday of our 'Christmas Ornament Saturday' event.  Each Saturday, starting tomorrow and going until the Saturday before Christmas, we will be making some type of handmade ornament for our tree.  The project that I have planned for tomorrow will be fun. Nice, colorful ornaments for our tree.  Can't wait!

I'm looking forward to getting a lot of time in for reading too.  I finished Shelley Shepard Gray's Snowfall, and loved it.  I didn't realize that it was the latest in a series.  So, today, I started the first in that series, Daybreak.  I haven't gotten very far into, but it will be the perfect read with a cup of peppermint tea this cold and snowy weekend.

Happy Reading!

Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon Completed

Yesterday was the final day of the read-a-thon.  I'm happy to say that I read the five books that I had on my list.

Holiday in Magnolia Bay by Tracay Solheim
Just in Time for Christmas by Kim Boykin
Blame the Mistletoe by Dani Collins
Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone
A Very Married Christmas by Erika Marks

My current read is also a holiday/winter themed book, Snowfall by Shelley Shepard Gray.  I'm really enjoying it, and hopefully will have time to finish it tomorrow.

Book #4 of the read-a-thon

I finished Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone last night.  I stayed up late to finish it.  There's just something about a Christmas love story.  The town of Marietta, Montana sounds like a perfect place to spend the Christmas holiday.

Just in Time for Christmas by Kim Boykin
Blame the Mistletoe by Dani Collins
Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone
A Very Married Christmas by Erika Marks

Today is the last day of the challenge.  I've loved it.  This was the perfect thing to jump start my reading, after having a slow fall season of reading.

Happy Reading!!

Book #3 in the read-a-thon

I finished Blame the Mistletoe by Dani Collins this morning.  It's the first in the series of books.  I enjoyed reading Liz and Blake's story.  A nice Christmas romance book.  I'm hoping the second in the series is just as good.

I'm more of a mystery girl, but I'm enjoying the Christmas romance book that I've been reading for this challenge.

Book #2 in the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon

I finished Just in Time for Christmas by Kim Boykin last night.  I really enjoyed it.  I liked the back story that Logan and Miranda had, it made their story even sweeter.  I like the Magnolia Bay setting, it sounds like a quaint town.  This was the second out of four book in the series.

My Book Goals for the Read-a-Thon:

Holiday in Magnolia Bay by Tracy Solheim
Just in Time for Christmas by Kim Boykin
Blame the Mistletoe by Dani Collins
Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone
A Very Married Christmas by Erika Marks

My original goal was three books, but I'm hoping to read at least four of the five that I have listed.

We're getting colder weather, so reading Christmas and/or winter setting books are perfect.

Happy Reading!!

And it begins....

Today is the kick off for the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon.  I've completed two mini challenges this morning and read my first book!!

I created a fun MadLib at Gin's Book Notes.

And, I completed the Holiday Wish Challenge at Bookwyrming Thoughts.

I've spent the morning reading Holiday in Magnolia Bay by Tracy Solheim.  It was pretty good.  A little short on the holiday portion, just the very end took place during the Christmas season.

To get into the festive holiday mood, I baked a gingerbread cake today.  My house smelly yummy!  Perfect for reading another holiday book!

Ho-Ho-Ho Holiday Read-a-Thon

I signed up for the Ho-Ho-Ho Holiday Read-a-thon.  It takes place November 6-11.  The goal is to read holiday themed books or books that have winter as the setting.  My personal goal is going to be 3 books.  At this point, I haven't decided which books I'm going to read.  So, it will be fun to see what books I read during that week.

Ho-Ho-Ho Read-A-Thon

November....

Time to dust off the blog, and start posting about books again.  The weather is starting to get cold - we got our first snow a couple days ago - perfect cozy reading weather.

I'm almost done with Heather Blake's newest release - One Potion in the Grave.  I love this series.  The characters are fun.  The dialogue is hilarious.  I'm already wish for the next in the series, and it will be a while yet.

Happy Reading!!
