November Reads

Sadly, I didn't finish a single book on my list during the month of November.

I'm hoping to have a couple of books read by the end of the coming week.

October Reads....

I read 3 books from my list during the month of October.

The Darling Dahlias and the Confederate Rose by Susan Wittig Albert
Murder of the Cat's Meow by Denise Swanson
Cookie Dough or Die by Virginia Lowell

Not bad for a busy month.  I'm reading Iced by Carol Higgins Clark at the moment. 

I always enjoy a trip to Darling, Alabama with Albert's wonderful characters.  I wasn't that thrilled with the latest in the Scumble River series by Swanson.  And, I really enjoyed the first book in the cookie cutter series by Lowell.  Actually, I wish that I had put the rest of the series on my list.  But, for now, I'm concentrating on reading what I have on my list.  All books that I've wanted to read for some time.

Being a book release Tuesday, I have 7 new books that have appeared on my Kindle Fire this morning.  Some of my favorite cozy mystery authors have new books out today.  Yeah!

The adult summer reading program that my library offers every summer starts this Friday, June 1.  Major reading is about to start!  I look forward to this every summer.  I have a list of books - all on my Kindle Fire - that I plan on reading.  Here's hoping that I have a great reading summer, just like the last few years.

2012 Cozy Mystery Challenge

Signing up for my third year of the Cozy Mystery Challenge. Can't wait until April 1! I'm going to put together a list of books that I'd like to read for the challenge in the next week or so. It seems like I always make a list, and than end up reading about half of the books that were never on my list though. Maybe this year will be different....probably not. :)

Books #3 through #7

I'm really enjoying this challenge. Here are the books that I've read to date.

I loved #5 and #7, both the first in new series. I'm really hoping to see more books in each of these series. I was fortunate enough to go to a book signing for Denise Swanson and Casey Daniels/Kylie Logan. A fabulous way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

More than half way through the challenge....

Book #2...

I finished my second book of the challenge last night - Decked by Carol Higgins Clark. The first in the Regan Reilly series. I'm not sure why I haven't started this series before, I really enjoyed the first book. I just bought the second in the series for my Kindle, but I'm going to wait to read it until I finish the book that I received for my birthday last week.

We're expecting a winter storm to start tomorrow. I'm ready! I have books, peppermint tea, my knitting and some DVDs to keep me company.

Cruising...

My goal level is #3, which is 13 or more books. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

My first finish for January is Die Job by Lila Dare, the third in the Southern Beauty Shop series. I love this series. The characters are so vivid in my mind while I'm reading. I just read that another author will be taking over the series starting with the fourth book, so I'm wondering which direction she will take the characters that I've loved in the previous three books.

Crusing thru the Cozies 2012

I'm joining this group again this year. I read tons of cozies last year, but didn't keep my blog updated at all. This year, I'm planning to change that.
